There’s an ancient curse that goes something like this: “May you live in interesting times!” We are certainly so cursed or blessed! We are living through some very interesting times. Let us see what we might glean from the Cayce work. In times of personal challenge, the Cayce work has served as an aid to many. But what about in times of collective challenge? Can the Cayce work be helpful in those times as well?  The answer is a resounding yes! I get encouraged daily by the guidance in the Cayce work about the time we are in.

The years ’58 to ’98 (which some have taken to be other than 1958 to 1998, which I do not believe to be the case) were described as a 40 year period of intense testing on the Earth plane. If we look at those decades, we can certainly see what was meant. The 60’s started with ideals and a desire to break out of gender and other stereotypes and limitations. But by the end of the 60’s, the icons of hope had been assassinated, which led to the downward slope in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. The 2000’s have really been the hangover from those years of collective excess.  And we are still trying to find our way. Cayce described 1998 as the dawn of the Aquarian Age and the transition from the Piscean ideals to those of the Aquarian.  In Revelation, Cayce interpreted the “1,000 years of peace” as potentials that could be actualized in the Aquarian Age. Indeed, even Jesus esoterically advised to “following the waterbearer”, the astrological symbol for Aquarius.

Cayce referred to the Great Pyramid of Giza as, among other things, a calendar. The pyramid inch, is used to measure time from the entrance all the way to above the relieving chambers of the Chamber of the Second Birth, also known as the King’s Chamber. John Van Auken measured that distance and took the calendar’s end date to be 2038. Others have pointed to 2025, both significant time periods.  If we look at the 40 years of 1958 to 1998 as periods of testing, it’s interesting to note the possible balancing period of the following 40 years from 1998 to 2038.

Things at ARE have their own synchronistic life. Beware all ye who enter as you will be getting what you need, and not what you think you came for! My experience at ARE has been full of these spiritual hijackings of my egoic intentions into spiritual transformation, oftentimes with the requisite kicking and screaming! Let me recount one such example. In 2010 through 2012, there just couldn’t be enough written or too many conferences exploring the Mayan prophecy of 2012.  ARE was certainly part of the engagement. The ARE invited don Carlos Barrios, Mayan Ajq’il (elder), member of the Council of Mayan Elders, and author of the best seller, The Book of Destiny: Unlocking the Secrets of the Ancient Mayans and the Prophecy of 2012.  He only spoke Ch’orti’ and Spanish and as I speak fluent Spanish, I was asked to be his assistant during his visit. It was an incredible experience to share a week with don Carlos. He gave many television and radio interviews which I served as an interpreter for.  By the end of the week, he would just tell me to answer the questions, much to the chagrin of the interviewers, because he was asked the same questions over and over!

In one of our conversations, he said that the west was so focused on 2012. He said nothing big would happen on December 22, 2012. The changes are always subtle. But he said the real date the Mayans were looking at was 2038. “If we as a collective humanity can make it to 2038, we should be ok.”  I was surprised to hear this date and he was surprised to hear of Cayce’s pyramid prophecy and the 2038 date as well.  He said, “We measure time in so many ways, but at the beginning of an age, the 13 year cycles are very important. Like a child. From 0 to 13, the young person cannot get into too much trouble, but 13 to 26, is another story. If the individual makes if to 26, they are usually past the worst of it.” The 13 year cycles go from 2012 to 2025, then to 2038. “The period of 2025 to 2038 is crucial”, he said.

We have all chosen to be the bridge people from 1958 to 2038. Cayce said that New Age would be an age of purity, a time of global interconnectedness in consciousness, and a time of direct communion with God. We have been here before in Lemuria and in Atlantis.  This is our third attempt to spiritualize the human consciousness on the Earth.  I like to close with one of Cayce’s most frequent Bible references, Deuteronomy 30:19, where Cayce emphasized, “Choose thou!”  We are all living in these interesting times of division between materialism and spirituality, sharing and selfishness, others versus self.  Just as the Christ is the spirit of oneness, so is the Anti-Christ the consciousness of selfishness and greed. In the Cayce work, we find refuge in that we are all part of a collective effort, since the beginning of soul involution into the Earth, to spiritualize the human consciousness. We are closer than ever and the forces that want to block that evolution are more desperate than ever. If we can just keep the faith, keep being true to what we know best to do. The truth will set us free. And we have a manual in the Cayce work to light that candle in the darkness. 2038 isn’t so far away.
